CLUB GOLF RULES

The Tournament Committee will ensure that the event rules are followed/enforced for each event unless
otherwise specified.
A. The tee box distances will be between 6100-6400 yards.
B. Seniors (age 65 or older) will always have the privilege to play 1 box forward.
C. Par 3 tee boxes will always be together and/or played from the same distances.
D. Out-of-Bounds (OB), lost ball, and hazard balls will all be played as lateral hazards under penalty
of 1 stroke.
E. Max score is double par on any hole to enable speed of play.
F. 2 balls off the first tee, if needed.
G. Rake and replace balls in all sand traps, if needed.
H. The ball will be played down.
I. USGA rules apply to all other situations unless local rules take precedence.
J. All discrepancies during play will be documented and resolved by the Tournament Committee
and/or the Director for Player Operations at the end of the round, rulings are final!
Mid-West Tennessee Golf Club Flighting:
Flighting: Golf competition will be divided into four (4) flights. For flighting, all player averages are
rounded down (e.g. an 85.5 will be regarded as an 85 average).
Champion Flight 80 average and below
Flight A 81-86 average
Flight B 87-92 average
Flight C 93 and above
The first 3 MWTGC events will be used to flight golfers subsequently. After the first 3 events, all 1st time
MWTGC players will play in Flight A (unless they are a validated Championship Flight player through
local knowledge of any MWTGC committee member) until they have played in 3 MWTGC events to be
flighted.
CRITERIA for flight promotion: Once a player is flighted, they will remain in that flight unless they
average in the range of the next higher flight in a MWTGC event regardless of finishing position.
Winning the flight is NOT the criteria for movement.
CRITERIA for demotion: A player can only move down to a lower flight after three consecutive
MWTGC events of averaging the score in the lower flight. Demotion will be executed automatically

based on outlined criteria unless the player expressly notifies the MWTGC committee via email before
the start of the next MWTGC event.
